Southern Resident Killer Whales

The Forgotten Songs Documentary

The lives of the native Coast Salish tribes and the endangered SRKW are beautifully interwoven both physically and spiritually.

The tribal members and whales alike have spent decades fighting for the survival of their cultures.

We examine the threats of assimilation and extinction from outside influences, what these losses would mean for our world, and what must change for these groups to thrive once more.

Members from three Coast Salish Tribes spanning three generations guide us into the world of Coast Salish and orca culture and history, while top orca scientists help us navigate the ongoing story of the SRKW.
